The festival for music bands and groups for junior high school pupils is taking place in Da Nang’s Hai Chau District on March 27 and 28.

Organised by the district-level People’s Committee, the event attracts the participation of more than 300 pupils from 9 junior high schools across the district. Each music band and group has 10-20 members and each school has 2-3 performances.

This was a useful playground to help children show off their talent in using traditional and contemporary musical instruments such as piano, drums, violin, and guitar, thereby contributing to expanding understanding of music in relation to historical, cultural and social factors.

The organisers will give a First, 2 Second, 3 Third and 3 Consolation prizes to schools with outstanding performances. In addition, there will be awards for the best voice, best musician, best self-composed work, and best performance about teachers and school.
