The U.S. travel site, Tripadvisor, recently unveiled its Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Beaches 2024 rankings for Asia.

The My Khe Beach in Da Nang ranked sixth among Asia's best beaches, according to Tripadvisor.

Thanks to its clear blue waters and soft white sands which sparkle in the sunlight, the My Khe Beach is very attractive to both domestic and foreign visitors.

The "Best of the Best Beaches" awards for the Asian region are part of the annual Travelers' Choice Best of the Best awards, which aim to honor favorite destinations, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment activities worldwide and in each region. The categories will be announced throughout the year instead of all at once.

The rankings are based on reviews from experts and travelers over a 12-month period. Among the 8 million profiles appearing on Tripadvisor, less than 1% receive the Best of The Best award, demonstrating the excellence of the category in the travel industry.

In 2023, My Khe was the sole Vietnamese representative in this ranking, securing the eighth position.

The 10-kilometer-long My Khe beach has gained international attention as it was named among Asia's top 10 beaches in 2012 by Australian newspaper The Sunday Herald Sun.

Thanks to its clear blue waters and soft white sands which sparkle in the sunlight, the My Khe Beach is very attractive to both domestic and foreign visitors.

The beach is just a 15- minute ride from the centre of the city. Its sea water is quite cool with little waves so you can swim all year's round, especially in summer from May to August.

This beautiful beach is considered as a wonderful place for those who want to enjoy the beauty of nature at sunrise and sunset, as well as to take stunning photos.

In 2005, this beach was voted one of the 6 most beautiful beaches in the world by the US Forbes Magazine. The main reason was that this beautiful beach meets all the requirements of a luxurious beach, including easy traffic and access, free admission for tourists, long and flat sand shore, sunlight and waves suitable for playing beach sports, a variety of high-end resorts and international-standard villas.

The most important thing is that Viet Nam’s tourist attractions, including the My Khe Beach, has regained international recognition after 3 two years of COVID-19-related disruptions to global tourism.

With remarkable tourism success in early 2024 achieved by Da Nang, we think a lot about what has been done over the past three years by the city when the city’s economy has gradually recovered from the pandemic. Therefore, the city must be determined to making its sea, hills, suburban plains and inner city more beautiful.

With its long coastline, Da Nang boasts stunning beaches, including My Khe, Nam O, Bac My An, Non Nuoc, Xuan Thieu that are engraved in minds and memories of locals and tourists. That's not to mention some amazing beaches around the Son Tra Peninsula.

With the city’s greater efforts, not only My Khe but also other beaches in the city will be named among the most beautiful on earth. Just a few decades ago, there were a few small, spontaneous, pristine beaches in Da Nang while there were only sand dunes and barbed wire in the wartime on the others. Till date, the Da Nang beach have made it into prestigious world tourism evaluation organizations’ list of the best beaches in the world, while it has also won the recognition and high evaluation from domestic and foreign tourists.

The most important thing is to how to keep My Khe and other tourist beaches in the city from losing their international noble titles. It must be affirmed that, over recent years, the city has issued effective policies and taken appropriate measures to boost its tourism industry which has been identified as a key economic sector with a focus on maximizing the potential of marine tourism. Special attention has been paid to increasing quantity of tourism products, including marine tourism products, as well as improving their quality. On the one hand, importance has been attached to unlocking the potential of the nature that has bestowed the city with beautiful sandy beaches with crystal clear water, moderate salinity, and smooth waves.

Heed has been paid to maximizing local available resources to protect the ocean and marine life. High priority is given to making sure that beachgoers enjoy pure sea water in a bid to bring satisfaction to locals and tourists when swimming at the beach or participating in such water sports activities as scuba diving, windsurfing, and parasailing.

The slogan "Keeping the Da Nang beach clean at all costs" was raised by the city's top leader during a survey trip to the My Khe Beach before the city’s 2023 tourist season kicked off. This is also the slogan of the city to engage all local residents with protecting the environment.

Above all, the most important factor is Da Nang people who play a vital key in increasing the attractiveness of their city's tourist attractions. Tourism is an integrated economic industry that is highly socialized, and requires active participation of all economic sectors and local communities to boost the sector.

In the future, reputable investors will come Da Nang to develop attractive and world-class tourism projects. Hence, Da Nang locals who are the owners of this beautiful city, will play their part in increasing the value of these tourism products by showing their friendly attitude and cultural lifestyle towards tourists, as well as doing small actions to keep the ocean clean, and make their city more green, clean and beautiful.
