The opening night of the much-awaited Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024 is slated for June 8, kicking off dazzling performances by France and Da Nang (Viet Nam), promising many thrills and surprises because this is a competition between the defending champion DIFF 2023 and the home team.

Renewing artistic activities

According to the DIFF 2024 organising committee, so as to increase the attraction of the upcoming fireworks shows, the opening night will start with a top art performance on the water surface for the first time in Da Nang, with the participation of top Vietnamese singers.

The highlight of the art programme on the opening night is the sports art performance of jetski and flyboards This is a skillful combination of dances on water, in the air, and extreme sports performances combined with fireworks.

It is known that this performance will be performed by manufacturer H2O from Australia with the participation of the world's top 1 jetski and flyboard athletes who are famous for their acrobatic skills in the air.

The opening night of DIFF 2024 promises to create a different highlight in this year's fireworks season.

In addition, there will be a musical show before firework performances with the participation of many famous Vietnamese artists such as singers Tung Duong and Trang Phap. Majestic songs honouring beautiful Da Nang, and Viet Nam at large, as well as French love songs are high;y expected to make the opening night more attractive and inviting.

According to information released by the DIFF 2024’s organising committee, after a month of preparations, the main items of the DIFF 2024 stage have up to now been completed and the viewing angles have been tested to match the original design.

According to Mr. Tran Xuan Hung, Head of the Construction Sub-committee of DIFF 2024, the stands are designed according to new standards that not only ensure safe load-bearing part for the audience at the highest, but also that all angles towards the main stage are easy to watch performances.

This year, the art performance stage is invested on a larger scale and improved with more modern technology than in 2023, 20% larger than the previous fireworks season.

In particular, the stage was designed with inspiration from creative hands to convey beautiful messages about a peaceful and humane world in accordance with the theme of DIFF 2024 which takes ‘Made in Unity – Global Connection – Radiant Five Continents”  as its overarching message.

Dramatic meeting

The opening night of DIFF 2024 will be viewed as a dramatic meeting between France and the host Da Nang (Viet Nam). The ArtEventia fireworks team was the champion of DIFF 2023. It boasts experience participating in many festivals and international fireworks display events in different countries around the world and has won high prizes such as the champion of  the Knokke-Heist International Fireworks Festival (Belgium) 2022 and the first place at Szczecin International Fireworks Festival (Poland) 2019.

Through colours, effects and music, the French fireworks team wants to touch the hearts of the audience.

The audience will see and admire a performance that may be both powerful but also very gentle and delicate. The light show at DIFF 2024 by Arteventia will bring the breath of fire culture, Latin culture combined with a very typical French impression.

With home field advantage and extensive experience through DIFF seasons, the Da Nang fireworks team has prepared a very elaborate light show scenario with a concert of more than 4,000 firecrackers of all kinds combined with hundreds of different effects and colours.

A representative of the Da Nang fireworks team said that the home team's 3-part performance is called ‘Dance of the Sky’, which has a combination of gentle, fresh melodies, evoking emotions for viewers with a vibrant, modern sound as an invitation to tourists from near and far to come to beautiful Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.
