Da Nang launches enthralling cultural activities to retain tourists
Aside from new tourism products this summer, Da Nang has been organising a host of large-scale cultural events and unique artistic activities along the both banks of the Han River and local beaches in a bid to enrich spiritual life of local people, promote tourism, and keep tourists staying longer and spending more in the city.

Along with the inauguration of Bach Dang walking street, Hai Chau District has coordinated with relevant units to organise many new cultural and artistic programmes to serve residents and tourists.
Notable among them is the "Danang Music Corner" programme with the first edition launched on June 8 on the Bach Dang walking street.
Hosted by the city's Culture and Cinema Centre, the programme is held on Saturday evenings of the first week of June, July, and August at two music space clusters from the Dragon Bridge to the Tran Thi Ly Bridge.
The first cluster is an ensemble of modern musical instruments like saxophone, keyboard, and guitar, whilst the performances of traditional musical instruments such as zither, bamboo flute, and erhu take place at the second cluster.
Deputy Director of the Culture and Cinema Centre Nguyen Cuong said that the programme is built according to the criteria of community, ensures artistic quality and conveys positive messages.
Two traditional and modern music clusters perform in parallel to meet the musical enjoyment needs of audience of all ages, contributing to increasing the attraction of the walking street, promoting the formation and development of art groups, and arousing the spirit of participation in cultural and artistic activities among young people.
Similarly, a wide range of unique cultural and artistic exchange activities will be held at the East Sea Park to draw much attention from tourists.
Specifically, the 2024 professional street dance exchange programme will take place on June 2, attracting the participation of many famous hiphop dancers.
Held from July 4 - 7, the Viet Nam - Japan Festival promises to bring locals and visitors many new exchange activities imbued with the cultural identities of the two countries.
According to a spokesperson for the Centre for International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Services under the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, the new feature of the festival will be the Bon Odori festive day, the largest of its kind in Central Viet Nam, organised by the Japanese community in the central region.
Additionally, there will be a workshop on Japanese hiphop dance organized by Kadokawa Dreams - the champions of the Japan Pro League 2023.
Professionally staged nighttime arts programme will show the traditional and modern cultures of the two countries, whilst a cosplay contest and Japanese baseball experience activities promise to be attractive to locals and visitors.
According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Thi Hoi An, diversifying cultural and artistic products not only brings people and tourists new experiences, but is also a way to attract and retain tourists.
She, therefore, remarked that the cultural sector was always determined to create activities that harmonize tradition and modernity, and local identity and community, thereby bringing interesting and unforgettable experiences to visitors.
