Second night of DIFF 2024: US "rookie" competes with Italian "former champion"

The second night of the ongoing Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024, themed ‘Made of Natural Wisdom’, on Saturday evening was the encounter between Team Martarello Group S.R.L from Italy, the reigning runner-up of DIFF 2023, and the rookie team Rozzi Fireworks from the US.

In attendance at the event were Da Nang Party Committee Secretary cum Head of the Da Nang Delegation of National Assembly deputies Nguyen Van Quang; Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh; Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh; Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Council Ngo Xuan Thang; Vice Chairman of Da Nang People's Committee cum Head of DIFF 2024 Organising Committee Tran Chi Cuong.

Among important international guests were Mr. Marc E. Knapper, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Viet Nam; Mr. Marco Della Seta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Viet Nam.

The second night of DIFF 2024 was  a competition between the "former king" Italy that won the DIFF championship for two consecutive years (2017 and 2018) and the runner-up of DIFF 2023, and the rookie US - the fireworks team attending DIFF for the first time.

During the festive night of the brilliant light, the audience witnessed vivid natural paintings recreated through magical, eye-catching fireworks displays and vibrant art performances from a series of Vietnamese and international artists.

This year, the stage of DIFF 2024 has been improved with many modern technologies, creating a large performance space with a majestic scale that has made a strong impression on the audience right from the opening night. Here, the audience enjoyed unique musical performances, both closely following the theme ‘Made of Nature Wisdom’ and bearing the cultural imprint of the participating countries.

The second night's art programme was performed by Trung Vuong Theater artists, opening with the song ‘The River is Not Cold’  recreating the beauty of the Han River, a river associated with the memories of many generations of Da Nang people and it is also a witness to the changes in the city's journey of transformation and advancement.

Before the Italian team's fireworks performance, local people and tourists enjoyed the performance entiled ‘Che Sara’ by Jimmy Fontana, which portrayed the peaceful beauty of nature, taking audiences to Italy, a romantic paradise with architectural masterpieces and ancient cities.

Next, the audience were treated with the lovely melodies of the song ‘Chatting with Nature’ by Bui Cong Nam. The song tells the story of the connection and closeness between people and nature, dispelling the fatigue and worries of everyday life.

To stir up the atmosphere, Katy Perry's renowned song ‘Roar’ sounded like a fierce declaration of nature. International singers and artists from the Trung Vuong Theater also told audiences interesting stories about the strength of wild animals.

Meanwhile, the song ‘Soul of My Hometown Stone written by musician Nguyen Duy Khoai, helped to stir a new emotion among visitors, praising the Marble Mountains, a masterpiece of natural landscape that nature bestowed on the Da Nang land.

All of the performances created a colourful cultural space where music and dance were created from stories about majestic and delicate nature.
