Through practical actions, Nguyen Van Thoai contributed material wealth to the reconstruction of An Hai Village market, An Phuoc pagoda, the village communal house, and temples to worship the gods. This created a great change for the fishing village of An Hai and the communes on the east bank of the Han River in terms of both economic and cultural development. From a poor village, An Hai Village gradually became a populous, prosperous land on the east bank of the Han River.
