With the theme "Made of Young Generation", the final competition night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2024 this evening will be a competition between two fireworks teams from China and Finland.

Hotels stay at full capacity

As noted by our reporters, the finale of DIFF 2024 is highly anticipated by domestic and international tourists. Tickets for the finale have been already sold out. Many accommodation establishments have been booked very early, especially seaside hotels and ones near fireworks viewing stands.

Ms. Nguyen Thi My Trinh, Chief Executive Officer of the Bien Vang Hotel located on Pham Van Dong Street said that her hotel is fully booked not only for the final night of DIFF 2024, but also for previous competition nights. This indicated that DIFF was still attractive to both locals and tourists. The room occupancy rate at 4 to 5-star seaside hotels and resorts is also very high.

According to Chairman of the Da Nang Hotel Association cum General Director of the Furama Danang Resort Nguyen Duc Quynh, along with the DIFF 2024 finale, the city has many other big events, so accommodation facilities along beaches and in the city centre are almost full of rooms.

Particularly at the Furama Resort Da Nang, rooms were fully booked early. Aside from guests coming to the city to watch the DIFF 2024 finale, the resort has welcomed many guests who come to watch the live show of famous domestic singer My Tam on the evening of July 14 at the Ariyana Convention Centre Danang.

Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Nguyen Thi Hoai An said that, on July 13, Da Nang expects to welcome 147 flights, including about 50 international flights (equivalent to 2023) and 97 domestic flights, up nearly 8% against the previous year. In addition, about 7,500 - 8,000 visitors will come to Da Nang by train.

Preliminary statistics released by the Department of Tourism show that the number of guests served by local accommodation establishments in the final night is estimated at about 90,017, of which international guests will be about 30,970 and domestic tourists will stand at about 59,047. The hotel room occupancy rate at hotels in the entire city is estimated at about 90%, of which that in 4-5 star hotels and equivalents are estimated at about 80-85%; and that in 3-star hotels or less and equivalent 90-95%. Currently, the city has 23 cruise ships with more than 2,400 seats qualified to watch fireworks, and the final night is expected to have 100% capacity.

Waiting for China and Finland to shine

Up to now, the preparatory works for the two teams' performances in the final night have been already completed.

According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Ha Vy, the stage has been invested on a large scale with many modern technologies. The art programme on the final night will feature the participation of many famous artistes such as Uyen Linh, Hoang Hai, MC Duc Bao and Hoang Oanh, promising to bring unique art performances imbued with the identity of Da Nang to the audience as well as to evoke the common message of DIFF 2024 "Made in Unity - Global Connection - Radiant five continents".

In addition, other tasks such as security and order, traffic safety, reception, ticket control, environmental sanitation, food safety, and fire prevention have been carefully prepared.

To meet the needs of people and tourists, DIFF organisers have added and expanded stand A3, bringing the total number of seats in the grandstand of the final night to nearly 13,000 seats.

Mr. Nguyen Van Binh, Chairman of Sun Group in the central region, said that to create a difference and something new in the final night, there will be a special show by flycams before fireworks shows.

Team Liuyang Jingduan New-art Display Co from China, and Team Joho Pyro Professional Fireworks AB from Finland, have basically completed the fireworks installation work at the fireworks shooting area.

According to Ms. Nadia Shakira Wong, the Director of Global 2000, the consulting unit for DIFF 2024, all preparations for the final night are carried out as planned. The consulting unit is reviewing the final stages to get ready for the most anticipated performances of this year's DIFF season.
