Exciting Da Nang Open Club Volleyball Championship 2024

Organised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the sports event is a meaningful sports playground for athletes to exchange, compete, and improve their professional skills.
The tournament has been free to spectators, contributing to spreading the volleyball movement in the community.
After a two-year hiatus, the tournament returns and expands its scale with the participation of more than 300 athletes from 20 clubs in the city and Quang Nam Province. The athletes compete in both men's and women's categories.
In particular, there are 12 male teams: Hai Chau, Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, An Khe (Thanh Khe), Newbie, Huu Tien (Ngu Hanh Son), Da Nang Department of Public Security, La's Café, Phuc Bo Store, University Village, and G-Storm.
Meanwhile, 8 teams, namely Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Ngu Hanh Son, Hoa Vang, Azami, Newfile, Youth Union and Tre Thang Binh, compete in the women’s category.
The men's teams are divided into 4 groups competing in a round robin to select the top 2 teams from each group to compete in the quarterfinals, semi-finals and finals. The women's teams compete in a round robin format to select the top 4 teams from each group to compete in the semi-finals and finals.
Athlete Nguyen Van Long from the Phuc Bo Store Club shared "I am very happy to participate in the tournament. This is the most anticipated municipal-level tournament of the year with high competitiveness. To compete for the championship, the club members practice two sessions a day. Hopefully, the club will maintain good form to complete the set goals".
With the same determination, athlete Nguyen Thi Nhu from the Thanh Khe District Women's Club said "The team sets a goal of winning the championship. The core of the team is young athletes studying at universities in the area. To prepare for the tournament, the team members practice regularly at the stadium of Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports".
At this year's tournament, in addition to Phuc Bo Store men's club and Thanh Khe women's club, Hai Chau District men's and women's teams are considered championship candidates. In previous tournaments, representatives of Hai Chau District presented at final matches.
Director of the Da Nang Sports and Physical Training Centre Tran Cong Tu said that this year’s tournament has expanded in scale and created great attraction among sports lovers. Recent matches have drawn much attention from a large number of fans.
Volleyball is one of the sports with great potential for development in the city. Most recently, many grassroots volleyball clubs have been established citywide, he added.
According to Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Culture and Sports Nguyen Trong Thao, the tournament lasts until November 4. This is a playground for exchanges among volleyball clubs in the city and Quang Nam Province, contributing to promoting the sports training movement throughout the city, improving the quality of physical education work, and building a healthy cultural lifestyle.
