Winners of "Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador" Contest 2024 announced

The awards ceremony for "Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador" Contest 2024 took place in the city on October 4 evening.

This year's contest received 45,162 entries. 345 outstanding entries were selected for the final round.

40 candidates with the best quality entries were selected to participate in the interview round at the Da Nang General Science Library on June 21.

As a result, the contest’s organisation board selected 28 most outstanding candidates of the 2024 Da Nang Reading Culture Ambassador contest.

In particular, four contestants were awarded the title of ‘Ambassador of Reading Culture’ (VND 6 million/prize). They were Tran Dinh Vi Khanh and Quach Hoa Tri from the FPT Primary, Junior and Senior High School in Ngu Hanh Son District, Ngo Thi Phuong Dung from the Le Do Junior High School in Son Tra District, and Doan Tri Hung from the Nguyen Thi Dinh Junior High School in Cam Le District.

Meanwhile, the remaining 24 contestants gained ‘Reading Culture’ prizes worth VND 3 million each. In the category, Thanh Khe District had a large number of prize-winning candidates with 11 out of the 24 pupils, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of prizes.

In addition, the FPT Primary, Junior and Senior High School, the Hoa Lu Primary School and the Le Do Junior High School took the "School with the most prize-winning candidates" Awards. Each school received a bookcase worth VND 5 million.

The "School with the most participating candidates" Awards of a bookcase worth VND 5 million each, were given to the Nguyen Tri Phuong Primary School in Son Tra District, the Pham Hong Thai Primary School in Ngu Hanh Son District, and  the Huynh Thuc Khang Junior High School inThanh Khe District.

Notably, the contest’s organisers will send 6 most outstanding entries to participate in the final round of the National Reading Culture Ambassador Contest.

This is the 6th year the contest has been held for primary, junior and senior high school pupils across the city.

Organised by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the contest aims to find cultural ambassadors for reading - a factor that promotes passion and spreads the love of books among the future generation of Da Nang youth.
