An art exhibition themed "Phan Huynh Dieu - The returning bird" is running at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum until November 18.

As part of a series of events in celebration of the 100th birthday of musician Phan Huynh Dieu, the exhibition was jointly organised by the museum, the Da Nang Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association, and the municipal Department of Culture and Sports.

On display at the 10-day event are 15 paintings, 8 sketches, 1 sculpture and 53 photos recreating everyday moments of the working life and musical creativity of musician Phan Huynh Dieu - an outstanding son of his hometown Quang Nam - Da Nang.

Through the art exhibition with the theme “Phan Huynh Dieu - The Returning Bird”, the Union of Literature and Arts Associations wants to recreate the life and creative career of musician Phan Huynh Dieu through a fine art form with paintings and sculptures.

It can be said that the displayed artworks of painters and sculptors have expressed their feelings for musician Phan Huynh Dieu - the golden bird of Vietnamese music and an outstanding son of the city. The exhibition borrows the language of fine art to express the gratitude and pride of Da Nang people towards the talented musician.

On the evening of November 9, at the Tien Son Sports Arena, the People's Committee of Da Nang coordinated with the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association to organise the art programme “Love stays".

The programme gave the audience the opportunity to enjoy again the typical works in the musical composition career of the renowned musician. Thanks to this, they learned more about the artistic values ​​in his songs. Although he is far away, his love still remains through beautiful melodies and poetic lyrics.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang in partnership with the Viet Nam Musicians’ Association had held a talk show entitled "The life and creative career of musician Phan Huynh Dieu" at the Tien Son Sports Arena and introduced Phan Huynh Dieu Street in Ngu Hanh Son District.
