Speaking at the signing ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasised that with the success of the two previous editions of DANAFF, the municipal People's Committee and VFDA officially signed a cooperation agreement on co-organising DANAFF for the 2025-2030 period to develop DANAFF into a prestigious film event in Asia and the world.

The DANAFF will be a bridge for domestic and foreign filmmakers, actors, and audiences to exchange, learn and cooperate on cinema. At the same time, it is a good opportunity for the Da Nang film industry to meet, learn and exchange directly with leading international film experts, she added.

“We believe that, with its great potential in natural resources, historical values, cultural heritage, traditional arts, and festivals, Da Nang will create its own brand of film events, contributing to the construction and development of the film industry, and promoting the common development of Vietnamese and regional cinema”, Mrs. Thi expressed.

As announced at the ceremony, DANAFF III will feature many fascinating programmes and activities such as screenings of competition and non-competition films, seminars, workshops, and a number of side events.

The spotlights of the film festival will be Korean cinema, the Asian cinema panorama programme, and training classes with international film experts which will be open to cinema lovers.

Especially, DANAFF III will offer a film project market for Vietnamese and international young talent filmmakers.

In addition, there will be an exhibition entitled “Impressive filming locations in Da Nang”. Other additional awards will be the Film Achievement Award for an excellent Asian filmmaker, and the Best Asian Film Award by Young Critics in the Asian Film Panorama programme.
