The 2024 National Student Basketball Tournament in central Viet Nam officially concluded in Da Nang on Saturday evening.

The organisers awarded the winning teams.

The event was jointly organised by the Physical Education Department under the Ministry of Education and Training, the Max Sports Entertainment JSC (MSE), and the Vietcontent JSC.

The tournament saw fierce competition among seven male teams, including the University of Da Nang, Duy Tan University, Dong A University, FPT University, Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports, Quy Nhon University, and Yersin University of Da Lat. The female category featured three teams, including the University of Da Nang, FPT University, and Vinh University.

The men’s teams were divided into two groups for a round-robin format, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals and finals. The women’s teams played in a single round-robin format, with the top two competing in the final match.

After an exciting series of matches at the University of Da Nang’s Sports Centre, the women’s category final saw the University of Da Nang overpowering Vinh University with a decisive 56-21 victory.

In the men’s category, the University of Da Nang continued to showcase their dominance, defeating the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports with a commanding 83-59 score to claim the championship.

This remarkable performance marked the third consecutive time both the male and female basketball teams from the University of Da Nang have earned the opportunity to represent the Central Viet Nam region in the national finals.
