A seminar took place in Hoi An City on Tuesday which was entitled “Swedish Sustainable Development Model - Sustainable Business with Swedish Cleantech”.  The purpose of the seminar was to help domestic businesses to improve their competitiveness and sustainable operations in the processes of economic development and environmental protection.

The participants were introduced to Swedish advanced technologies in water resource management, rubbish treatment and renewable energy development, with a special focus on a sustainable business model using Swedish cleantech.

The Swedish clean technology is suitable for small and medium-sized, or family-owned, enterprises in developing countries like Viet Nam.

Sweden boasts two internationally renowned sustainable city projects, namely the City of Tomorrow in Malmo, and Hammarby Waterfront in Stockholm.  Most notably, the city of Malmo is a typical example of cleantech living, with 39.9 percent of its energy demand produced from renewable energy sources.
