Published: October 26, 2013

The results from research into the production of digital X-ray machines were announced in Da Nang on Thursday.

The research has been conducted since 2010 by Viet Nam’s Smart High Technology Company (SHT) and the city’s Information and Communications Infrastructure Development Centre.  It has been partly funded by the city’s authorities, and aims to provide low-cost digital X-ray machines to hospitals nationwide.

Manufacture of the Digital X-ray SHT-001 machines is expected to begin in the next 6 to 8 months.  They will be sold at an estimated price of 20,000 USD each, or about one-tenth the cost of similar ones imported from abroad.
