Remarkable achievements in the education sector

The Da Nang Department of Education and Training on Tuesday morning honoured outstanding units and individuals from the 2012 - 2013 academic year in celebration of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (20 November). 

The Department Director, Mr Le Trung Chinh, said that the city’s education sector had seen many remarkable achievements during the last academic year.  In particular, there was an continuing annual increase in the number of students who successfully passed senior high school graduation and university entrance exams, and who achieved top marks in their university entrance exams.

To date, 22% of the city’s pre-schools, 70% of its primary schools, 32% of its junior high schools, and 20% of its senior high schools have been recognised as meeting the national standards.  The city has also seen a significant increase in both the quality and quantity of its teaching staff.  100% of local teachers have met the national teaching standards, 70% of them being above the minimum requirements.

Also at the event, the department was awarded a Second-Class Independence Medal from the State President, whilst the Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School received a Third-Class Independence Medal.
