Viet Nam wins 2 first prizes at computing competitions

The 22nd Informatics Olympiad for Vietnamese students (OLP) and the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM/ICPC) took place at Da Nang’s Duy Tan University from 27 - 29 November.  Around 500 students from 71 domestic and foreign educational institutions participated in the events.

In the OLP contest, the Ha Noi University of Architecture was crowned champions in the non-specialised informatics category, whilst the National Economics University, also in Ha Noi, won the Informatics Olympiad Super Cup.

The ACM/ICPC was won by the Obsidian team from China, with the Runes of Champion and the HCMUS-Acepters, both from Viet Nam, along with Taiwan’s SULMC, also placed joint first.

In the “Creative Summer for Writing Open Source Software Applications” contest, no first prize was awarded, but second prize went to Da Nang’s Duy Tan University.  The Ha Noi FPT University came third, whilst the Ha Noi University of Engineering and Technology received a consolation prize.

In the Open Source Software Competition, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology took first place, with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Information Technology second, and Da Nang’s Duy Tan University third.
