The central region and highlands qualifying round of a national contest for primary school pupils recently took place at Da Nang's Ngo Gia Tu Primary School.

Co-organised by the Thieu Nien Tien Phong (Young Pioneers) Newspaper and the Duc Viet Food Company, the event required contestants to show their intelligence and skills.   Participating teams were from 8 primary schools in Da Nang, Hue City, and provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Khanh Hoa.

This is 4^th time that the national contest has been held in primary schools, and this year there were 240 participating.

In the qualifying round, the Ngo Gia Tu Primary School won 1^st prize and will advance to the final round of the national contest which will be held on Friday in Ha Noi.  In addition, Quang Nam Province’s Nam Phuoc 3 Primary School finished second, whilst Da Nang’s Le Quang Sung Primary School and Hue City’s Ngu Binh Primary School came joint third.
