Seventy-six Da Nang students took part in the 2014 National Contest for Excellent Students which was organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) between 3 and 5 January. 

Seventy-five of them were from the Le Quy Don Senior High School for Gifted Students, whilst the other was from Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School.

Fifty nine of the students won prizes in the contest.  They took one first prize, 17 seconds, 21 thirds, and 20 commendation prizes.

Seven of the 59 award winners were selected by MOET to compete in the international and Asia regional competitions this year.

In this year’s national excellent student contest, Ha Noi produced the most winners, with a total of 137 prizes.  It was followed by Nghe An Province and Hai Phong City, both with 84 prizes, Hai Duong Province with 77 prizes, Nam Dinh Province with 72 prizes, and Vinh Phuc Province with 67 prizes.
