He said that Portland City in the State of Oregon always took the lead in the Sustainable Development Index in the USA.  He added that one of Portland’s strengths is its family tourism development.  He noted that, despite population growth in recent years, his city has seen a significant decrease in carbon-dioxide emissions.

Vice Chairman Tuan said that Da Nang universities wanted to boost educational cooperation with the Portland State University to help train a high-quality workforce in Da Nang.  This is considered to be one of the most important factors in preparing for the city’s sustainable development in the future.
