Vietnamese-Korean speaking contest's final round to be held on Saturday

The final round of the 7th National Vietnamese - Korean Speaking Contest will take place at Da Nang’s Trung Vuong Theatre on Saturday morning, 22 February.

The event is jointly organised by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations and the Korea-Viet Nam Culture Communication Centre.

A total of 19 outstanding contestants will compete in the finals, all selected from 2 qualifying rounds in late 2013.  They are Vietnamese students who are studying the Korean language at universities nationwide, along with Korean students who are learning the Vietnamese language at Vietnamese universities.  In the final round, they will compete in 2 categories – language eloquence, and a question and answer session.

A Vietnamese special prize winner will attend a free-of-charge course for a Master’s Degree at the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in South Korea.  Meanwhile, a Vietnamese first prize winner will receive either 1,500 USD in cash, or a 6-month Korean language training course in South Korea, excluding air fares.

In addition, a Korean special prize winner will receive 2,000 USD in cash, with the first prize winner receiving 1,500 USD.
