3 local entries go through to final round of invention contest

The 2014 Viet Nam Invention Contest was launched on 23 July.  The event is jointly organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology, the World Intellectual Property Organisation, the municipal departments of Science and Technologies in Ha Noi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, and the Intellectual Property and Innovation Magazine.

In the 3 months since the launch of the event, the contest’s organisers received a total of 173 entries from contestants nationwide, including 15 from Da Nang itself.

The 15 most outstanding entries have now been chosen to go through to the final round of the contest, and 3 of them are from Da Nang.  In detail, engineer Pham Tai from the Da Nang Public Lighting Management and Operation Company developed his entry “Researching and Manufacturing LED Lights Featuring Nano-technology Installed in Local Alleys”.  Another work, “Research, Design, and Manufacture of Energy-efficient Air Filtration Equipment from Domestic Materials”, was created by researcher Tran Van Quy from the city-based Tadicoba Refrigeration and M&E Corporation.  Lecturer Nguyen Bien Cuong from the Da Nang University of Technology developed a technical solution entitled “Methods for Manufacturing High-performance Concrete Drain Grates”.

The final result of the contest will be announced at the awards ceremony which will be held on 22 November in Ho Chi Minh City.
