The repair of the first rupture in the cable was finished at 6:16pm on 17 January and the final rupture is expected to be connected by 11:16 am on Saturday, 24 January.
The disconnect in the cable slowed the Internet connection between Viet Nam and other countries, FPT Coroporation said, adding that it is transmitting Internet service through mainland cables to limit the effect on its customers.
In 2014 alone, the undersea cable experienced three separate disruptions, in February, July and September, decreasing international Internet capacity by 40 to 70 percent.
The 20,000km undersea cable, which became operational in 2009, connects the Southeast Asian region directly to the US.
