Free Vietnamese-language-learning books to be offered in some other countries
Two sets of free Vietnamese-language-learning books will be offered for free in some countries as part of Viet Nam’s effort to enhance teaching the mother language to overseas Vietnamese.
At a recent meeting on improving teaching the mother language to overseas Vietnamese, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam concluded that the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are responsible for guiding the use of two set of books, “Tieng Viet Vui” (Fun Vietnamese) and “Que Viet” (Vietnamese Homeland) to teach the Vietnamese language to Vietnamese people living in other countries.
The books are expected to be released in the Republic of France first.

The Deputy Minister also assigned the two ministries to collaborate together to build two projects: improving the program on teaching the Vietnamese language to overseas Vietnamese, as well as strengthening the online teaching of Vietnamese.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister requested that the Ministry of Education and Training discuss with the governments of countries which have a large number of Vietnamese people to bring Vietnamese language, culture and history into their teaching curriculum.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was ordered to report to the Prime Minister on teaching the Vietnamese language to overseas Vietnamese living in neighboring Laos and Cambodia.
