Nineteen pupils receive awards in TOEFL Junior Contest
On Thursday afternoon, an awards ceremony took place at the Nguyen Khuyen Junior High School in Cam Le District for the TOEFL Junior 2014 contest for 6th to 9th grade junior high school pupils.
The event was jointly organised by the city’s Department of Education and Training, and IIG Viet Nam, which is the exclusive and official representative of the Educational Testing Service in Viet Nam.
Funded by the city’s branch of the AMA English Language Centre, the contest attracted over 1,000 entrants from 19 junior high schools across the city. A total of 1 first, 2 second, 4 third, and 12 consolation prizes were given to outstanding contestants, and they will also receive free English courses at the centre.
Also at the event, 6 of the 19 participating schools were honoured for their outstanding results. They were the junior high schools of Nguyen Khuyen, Nguyen Hue, Trung Vuong, Luong The Vinh, Kim Dong, and the Singapore International School.
