Recent discussions about preparations for the event |
TELMIN 15 will feature discussions about cooperation programmes to strengthen information infrastructure connectivity, narrow the digital divide, and improve IT application capability amongst the ASEAN member countries.
In addition, plans for implementing cooperation programmes between ASEAN and its dialogue partners and related international organisations will be adopted.
Municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Phung Tan Viet said that TELMIN 15 will offer a good opportunity for Da Nang to advertise its image to other regional countries as a city of events with friendly people.
He also urged the Ministry of Information and Communications and the organising board of TELMIN 15 to issue detailed instructions, as soon as possible, about what the city should do to ensure the best preparations for the upcoming event.
TELMIN was formed as a result of a decision to create stronger regional ties within the telecommunications fraternity in ASEAN. It is scheduled to be held annually and will rotate amongst the ASEAN member nations in alphabetical order.
