Contest for senior high school pupils to learn about ASEAN

A contest took place at Da Nang’s Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School on Thursday to encourage senior high school pupils to learn about the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its communities.  The event was co-organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Viet Nam Television, and the municipal Department of Education and Training.

In total, 40 teams competed from 23 senior high schools across the city.  They demonstrated their knowledge of ASEAN and its communities, including the ASEAN Political-Security, Economic and Socio-Cultural communities, ASEAN's external relations, and the involvement of Viet Nam and ASEAN member nations in their community.

Ong Ich Khiem school won first prize in the contest, whilst Ton That Tung came second.  Third place and consolation prizes were also awarded.
