Following recent approval by the Da Nang People’s Committee, high-speed hardware firewalls will be installed in the city for the next 24 months by the Centre for Integrated Circuitry (CENTIC).  Of the total cost of over 844 million VND, 499 million VND will come from the city’s fund for the local scientific and technological sector, whilst the remainder is coming from CENTIC.

According to the municipal Department of Information and Communications, this will be the first time that Viet Nam has successfully developed this firewall product.  It will help to ensure security of information in Viet Nam’s network and help the country to reduce foreign dependency in its IT sector.  This product can be installed immediately in the city's network and can also help CENTIC develop its new products.
