During his recent meeting with representatives from the Da Nang Biotechnology Centre, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung stressed the need for the centre to bring its biotechnology research to fruition in order to help local farmers develop their production activities.

He said that the focus should be on appealing for local businesses and investors to join efforts with the centre to develop suitable products which are being demanded by local consumers.  Importance should be attached to developing high-quality products with clear origins to ensure best benefit.

The city leader also stressed the need for the centre to cooperate with local businesses to maintain sustainable development in the years ahead.

The Biotechnology Centre now has a total of 26 employees, including one doctorate and 5 Master's degree holders, and one PhD student.  Most of them are trainees from the city’s High-quality Human Resources Development Project (Project No 922).
