GIZ asked to help Hoa Khanh IP to treat effluent with vacuum technology
On Tuesday, the Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman, Mr Huynh Duc Tho, and representatives from the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), assessed the efficiency of the application of the vacuum technology for domestic wastewater treatment in the city over the past 3 years.
The about 10 billion VND project has been implemented on a trial basis in 110 families in Son Tra District’s An Hai Bac Ward.

Some German experts said that this advanced wastewater treatment technology has been implemented successfully in Germany and some of European countries. This has helped to effectively reduce environmental and land pollution. However, they noted that the application of the vacuum technology for domestic wastewater treatment in the city has showed ineffective results.
In reply, Chairman Tho suggested to GIZ that this pilot project should be implemented in the city’s Hoa Khanh Industrial Park (IP) which was facing severe environmental pollution.
GIZ promised to give more assistance to Da Nang in conducting a pre-feasibility study for wastewater treatment using vacuum technology in the local IP.
