Local primary school takes 1st prize at international robothon contest

Seventeen teams from robotics clubs in primary schools across Da Nang participated in the Digital Campus International Robothon 2015 (DCIR) in Ho Chi Minh City on 29 November 2015.  

Team C8 from Thanh Khe District’s Hoa Lu Primary School took first place, whilst team B8 from Hai Chau District’s Nui Thanh Primary School came second.  In addition, another 5 teams from Tran Cao Van, Tran Van On, Huynh Ngoc Hue and Le Lai primary schools, also received notable prizes at the contest.

A total of 366 pupils in 122 teams from robotics clubs in primary and senior high schools in Viet Nam, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines took part in this year’s event.  Under the theme of ‘EcoWatch’, the DCIR 2015 simulates the current widespread deforestation which results in numerous serious negative affects on the globe. 

Contestants were required to perform various tasks including time control, soil data collection, placement of seeds and sample experiments. 

As a result, a total of 6 first, 6 second and 6 third prizes were given to outstanding participating teams.  In addition, 18 prizes went to contestants in recognition of their potential talents, whilst 18 more awards were made in recognition of great efforts in the event.
