Hour of Code campaign launched

DA NANG Today
Published: March 08, 2016

The 2016 Hour of Code campaign was launched in Da Nang last Saturday.  Co-organised by the University of Da Nang, the municipal Department of Education and Training, and the Vietnet Information Technology and Communications Company, the Hour of Code is a one-hour introduction to computer programming, designed to de-mystify code and show that anyone can learn.  This is the third time that the campaign has been held in Viet Nam, but the first time in Da Nang.

More than 10,000 people from 70 universities and junior colleges, along with high, junior high and primary schools, across the city are expected to become involved in the programme.

The closing and awards ceremony will take place at the YouthSpark Live Festival which is being held in the city on 26 March.  A total of 20 outstanding individuals and groups will be rewarded at that event.

As part of this year’s programme, there will be Coding for Girls which aims to inspire girls with a passion for computing science and programming.
