Like other pupils across the country, 11,003 candidates from Da Nang will sit for the 2016 national senior high school graduation examinations between 1 and 4 July.

During a meeting yesterday between municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung and representatives from local relevant agencies, discussions focused on the preparations for the upcoming exams.

Special attention will be paid to ensuring the accuracy of candidates’ personal information in their acknowledgement forms and correcting any wrong information when necessary.

A total of 637 teachers and educational officers will act as invigilators in the exam rooms, whilst the marking of the exam papers will be undertaken by 427 skilled teachers.

Importance will be attached to ensuring the confidentiality of exam question papers and candidates’ answer papers by putting them in sealed boxes.

Standby generators will be located at exam locations to ensure sufficient power supplies if any electrical failure occurs.

The Da Nang Power Company will send some of its employees to be on duty around the clock between 20 June and 4 July at the venues set for printing the examination papers to fix any electrical problems.

Around 300 volunteers from the University of Da Nang will offer assistance to exam candidates and their relatives, with a focus on identifying the correct exam rooms and accommodation for them, as well as providing them with free drinks and meals.

The municipal Students' Association has already raised enough money to buy over 11,000 bottles of Pepsi to serve to the candidates.

Relatives of exam candidates will be allowed to sit in the school yards of these exam venues whilst waiting for their children to complete their tests.

Medical staff from the local health sector will be on duty at exam locations and marking areas in order to handle any emergencies.

Local relevant agencies will increase their checks on food safety and hygiene at food and drink establishments  near the exam venues in order to protect the health of exam candidates and their relatives.

The municipal Department of Information and Communications will be responsible for publicising the results of the exams as soon as possible after the exams have ended.
