Over recent years, the Da Nang General Science Library has been gradually introducing applications of information technology (IT) in their operations and reader services.  This has helped to enhance the efficiency of researching and looking for documents in the library as well as its general operations.

During these summer days, the number of readers using the library has increased by up to 30% against normal days.

According to the latest figures released by the library’s general reading and lending rooms, over 80% of readers have accessed the library’s computers to research information and documents

Most notably, the library’s website addresses at http://thuviendanang.vn/ and http://opac.thuvien.danang.gov.vn/ allow readers to easily research and look for books, as well as extend their borrowing times, without actually going into the library.  Meanwhile, those who want to read e-books can access http://sachdientu.thuviendanang.vn/.

Currently, IT applications are being implemented on 99% of the library’s operational activities.  The venue boasts numerous modern facilities, including a 3D screening room and a multimedia reading room featuring 25 computers for readers. 

In addition, the application of library management system software Ilib 6.5 and digital library Dlib allows readers to register online for their library cards, and it provides easier access to all digital resources on the internet.

Thanks to the IT applications, the library has successfully made the change from a traditional library towards an e-library model.
