Aeronautical technologies have been researched and applied widely by many sectors in Viet Nam.

The statement was made at a workshop in Ha Noi on 30 September which was jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Viet Nam Space Committee (VSC)’s Office.

Mr Doan Ha Thang, Chief of VSC’s Office, said that remote sensing and satellite data have been used in natural science, agriculture, natural resources and environment, transport, and national defence and security.

Participants reviewed outstanding achievements in the research and application of aeronautical technologies since 2006 when the Prime Minister issued a decision ratifying the relevant strategy by 2020. They also outlined development orientations for the work during the 2016-2020 period.

The workshop highlighted Viet Nam’s achievements in this field, including VINASAT-1 and 2 commercial communication satellites, VNREDSAT-1 earth observation satellite, and SPOT satellite imaginary receiving station.
