Under the assessment criteria, the honourees had shown great devotion to the city’s teaching activities, and grasped the guidelines and orientations of the local education and training sector.

In addition, the teachers selected had boasted their specialised knowledge and promoted innovations in their teaching methods in order to enhance the quality of their teaching activities.  They had also gained good reputations in the local teacher community, and had been trusted and respected by other teachers, pupils and their parents.

Addressing the event, municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Tran Van Mien congratulated the honourees and other local teachers in recognition of the upcoming Vietnamese Teachers' Day (20 November).  He hoped that all local teachers would exert even more efforts to promote the city’s education sector and to uphold their devotion to the city’s teaching activities.

Vice Chairman Mien said, “The ‘Vo Truong Toan’ awards, the first of its kind to be held in the city, aim to express the city’s gratitude to outstanding teachers and to promote the country’s tradition of education.  I hope that similar awards will be held in the years ahead”.
