Science and Technology Department records remarkable achievements

In 2016, the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology has made every effort to assist local businesses to renew their production technologies.  This has helped them enhance their productivity and quality of their products in order to promote the development of the city’s technological market.

Thanks to the great assistance by the Department, the businesses have accessed new technologies to maintain their stable production and business activities.

In particular, the Department has spent a total of 339 million VND from its budget on helping 6 local businesses to increase their productivity and quality of their products.

It has also helped the Ngu Hanh Son Cement Company complete its necessary procedures to receive national-standard TCVN ISO 9001:2008 and 6260:2009 Quality Management System certifications.  Assistance has been given to the AME Medical Company to meet TCVN ISO 13485:2004 national standard.  In addition, the MEMCO Medical Company has met TCVN ISO 9001:2008 and 13485:2004 national standards, and effectively applied 5S management tools. 

Moreover, the Department has assisted the city’s branch of the Energy Audit Company, and the Dana-Italy Steel, Vinatex, Cosevco Ceramic Tiles and Lam Phu Thanh Consultancy and Construction companies, to build their own management systems which meet national standard TCVN ISO 9001:2008.

Under the help of the Department, the Quoc Thanh Production, Trading and Service Company has successfully registered the intellectual property right (IPR) of its brand names in their foreign consumption markets.  In addition, the Central Regional Machinery Manufacturing and Industrial Equipment Company has been given access to the Department’s budget to implement its technological renewing projects.

Ms Vu Thi Bich Hau, Deputy Director of the Department, remarked that her unit has organised numerous training courses on renewing technologies in local businesses.  Thanks to this, the businesses have accessed the city’s technological support policies in order to ensure their stable production activities and sustainable development. 

She also highlighted the vital role of industrial sector in boosting the competitiveness of economy of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.  She noted that in the coming time, a focus would be on facilitating local businesses to renew their production technologies, to access the city’s science and technology development funds, and to enhance the quality of products of local small and medium-sized enterprises.
