Over recent years, many of Da Nang’s students in the Microsoft Student Partners (MSP) programme have become actively involved in sharing new technologies with their friends.

Le Dinh Tu, a fourth year student from the city’s University of Science and Technology, said that the MSP members are responsible for finding more effective ways to share new technologies with local classmates in order to help improve their studying activities.

He remarked, “One of the popular technologies is Microsoft Office 365 with over 20 free teaching and learning assistance applications.  Included are ‘Classroom Handbook’, ‘Office Sway’ which helps to create and share amazing stories and presentations, and ‘Flow’ which helps with making presentations.  The Microsoft Office 365 has  become very popular with local students with over 14,000 activated accounts in total”.

In addition, the MSP members have helped Microsoft Viet Nam to organise seminars and technology competitions in the city.

In particular, a seminar was held in the city in January 2015 to introduce the Microsoft App Studio and it attracted a great deal of attention from local students.  The city’s Hackathon App Studio Contest 2015 opened up a chance for them to apply the knowledge gained from the seminar.

Mr Tu noted that each of the MSP members is a typical technological ambassador for their friends to follow.  He said, “Most of the students are familiar with PowerPoint, a popular presentation tool, although there are many new and more effective applications.  Therefore, when I use a more advanced presentation tool during my presentation in class, my classmates are curious about the tool.  Finally, I reach my target of sharing the new presentation tool with them”.

Mr Bach Tuong Tri, leader of the MSP team in the southern and central regions, said that since it began in 2008, MSP Viet Nam has helped many students nationwide access the latest Microsoft technologies.  There are around 70 MSP ‘ambassadors’ in total throughout the country.
