Viettel launches its nationwide 4G service
On Tuesday, Viet Nam’s military-run telecommunication group, Viettel, began offering its 4G network to its customers across the country.

Attending a 4G launch ceremony in Da Nang was Mr Dang Viet Dung, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman cum Head of the Department of Publicity and Training.
Addressing the event, Vice Chairman Dung highly praised Viettel for its active involvement in promoting socio-economic development, and its charitable and social welfare activities, in the city over recent years.
He also highlighted the vital role of Viettel in joining efforts with the city authorities to make Da Nang a smarter city. He hoped that the military telecom group would continue to improve the quality of its post and telecommunications services and develop more information technology infrastructure in the city. He added that the launch of Viettel’s 4G network will help to create the best conditions for serving the forthcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
A Viettel leader said proudly “My group boasts the highest number of 4G stations amongst the big telecom service providers in Viet Nam, with a total of 36,000 4G stations installed covering 99% of districts nationwide. The number of 4G stations is much higher than those for 2G and 3G installed by Viettel over recent decades.”
He added that 399 4G stations have already been installed in Da Nang, including in such remote areas as Hoa Bac, Hoa Phu and Hoa Ninh communes in Hoa Vang District, and on the peaks of the Ba Na Hills and the Hai Van Pass.
