Awards launched to honour Vietnamese talents

The 2017 Vietnamese Talent Awards were launched on May 30 to search for and honour Vietnamese smart solutions in the four categories of information and technology, environment, medicine and pharmacy, and talent incentive.

This year’s IT category focuses on the fourth industrial revolution (or Industry 4.0) and start-up initiatives. Entries should be sent to the headquarters of VnMedia Online Newspaper (14th floor, 57 Huynh Thuc Khang Street, Ha Noi).

Winners of the environmental category will be presented to collectives, organisations and residential communities for their achievements in environmental protection and the building of green residential areas.

One first prize worth VND 100 million (US$4,500), a second prize of VND 50 million (US$2,250) and a third prize worth VND30 million (US$1,350) will be presented to the best entries at the IT and environmental categories.

The medicine and pharmaceutical category will honour individuals and groups for outstanding research which was successfully implemented in society and gained certain outcomes in health check-ups and treatment. Winners of the category will receive VND 100 million each.

Meanwhile, the talent incentive category will be granted to those who overcame difficulties and promoted the spirit of self-study in order to successfully implement projects that have benefited the residential communities where they live and the surrounding areas.

Winners of the awards will be honoured at a ceremony scheduled in Ha Noi on November 16 this year.

Initiated in 2005 by the Viet Nam Association of Promoting Education, the awards have been co-organised annually by Viet Nam Post and Telecommunications, Viet Nam Television and Dan Tri online newspaper.
