First-ever regional Technology and Education University opens in the city
The Da Nang University has opened the Da Nang Technology and Education University to train a total of 2,000 students in 4 technological and engineering faculties.

The new university, which was developed from the former College of Technology and the technical teaching department of the Teachers’ Training College, is the 13th college at Da Nang University, and the first of its kind in Central Viet Nam and Highlands.
Next year, the college will enroll students for the first courses in technology, engineering, technical teachers and technological studies and applications.
The Da Nang University is one of the top 50 universities in ASEAN, and a key human resource centre for Central Viet Nam and Highlands.
Each year, the university’s 13-college system trains 90,000 students in technology, engineering, science, economics, trade, finance, foreign languages, medicine, culture, tourism and media studies.
The university is developing the Da Nang University Village project with an investment of 1.7 trillion VND (US$75.2 million) in the border area between Quang Nam Province and Da Nang.
It includes buildings, colleges, apartments and research centres for students.

In August, the Da Nang University, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Arizona State University officially launched a centre for students to research innovations.
In March, the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (Francophone University Association), agreed to boost co-operation in scientific research, education and student exchanges with the Da Nang University. This will also involve technology transfer, communications, business management, water management, and embedded software systems.
