21 school outdoor gyms to be built
Approval has been given by the Da Nang People's Committee (PC) to build a total of 21 outdoor gyms at primary to senior high schools cross the city by late this year. The information was announced by Director of municipal Department of Education and Training Nguyen Dinh Vinh on Thursday.
In particular, each of the soon-to-be built gyms wil be created at a cost of between 200 million VND and 2.7 billion VND, depending on its area.
Football grounds and badminton courts will be developed at schools with small areas, whilst others with larger areas will be designated for sports floors for volleyball, football, high jump and track and field.
The municipal PC has also approved to spend a total of around 6 billion VND on developing swimming pools at local schools by the end of this year. The priority will be given to rural schools in districts of Hoa Vang and Ngu Hanh Son.
It has been reported that during the 2017-2018 academic year, the city’s education sector has spent a total of 10.8 billion VND on fitting sports equipment for local junior and senior high schools.
