Under the project, which was approved by the Prime Minister in Decision 677/QD-TTg on 18 May, 2017, a website at https://itrithuc.vn/ has been set up, promising a comprehensive ecological system for all, especially Vietnamese youths, to develop cutting-edge technologies on the basis of big data, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms and artificial intelligence.

In the context of the fourth industrial revolution’s strong impacts on all fields, the project hopes to create huge opportunities for innovative start-ups in Viet Nam.

The system comprises of an open database providing information and data made public by ministries, agencies, localities, businesses, organisations and individuals; an archive collecting the world’s knowledge translated into Vietnamese and Vietnamese knowledge that has been systematized for easy study and search at different levels.

Users can put up questions in a Question-and-Answer column and receive answers from many sources as well as interact with different social networks and forums.  In addition, the system offers an application store developed by businesses and individuals.  Users can also dial the free number 1001 on Viettel, Mobiphone and Vinaphone networks to get answers to their questions.

As one of the first volunteer participants in the project, military-run group Viettel is building technological infrastructure and contributing knowledge to the system.

At the launching ceremony, representatives of ministries, Government agencies, cities, provinces, education establishments, research institutes, telecom firms, start-ups, social networks, forums and banks, and individuals committed to contributing to the project.

The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee has also launched a campaign encouraging students to join efforts in the implementation of the project, with nearly 2.5 million questions sent to the system within more than one week.
