Ms Nguyen Thi Van, Principal of the Huynh Ngoc Hue Primary School, remarked that her school usually organises numerous extracurricular activities at local museums to help her pupils learn about glorious Vietnamese revolutionary traditions.
She added that the ‘I Love Vietnamese History’ Festive Day, along with the ‘Ring the Golden Bell’ knowledge competitions themed ‘Future Historians’, and ‘I Love Viet Nam’ recently took place in her school. The intention was to help the school’s pupils to learn about national famous figures and historical events.
In addition, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer organisations of primary schools in Hai Chau District have become actively involved in history contests and extracurricular activities in order to understand more about the history of Da Nang, Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes, marine cultural values, and traditional craft villages.
Moreover, primary school pupils have also the opportunity to learn interesting history lessons at museums instead of their classrooms. They have been introduced to historical relic sites, culture, historical documents and artifacts, as well as to meet with historical witnesses to understand more about the history of Da Nang, the city’s glorious revolutionary traditions, and the traditional patriotism of locals.
Mr Nguyen Dinh Vinh, Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training, remarked that in addition to history lessons, extracurricular activities help to educate pupils about national glorious revolutionary traditions, patriotism, lifestyle morality, and behaviour skills. Through these meaningful activities, local pupils would treasure their current lives, uphold their responsibilities for their families and society, and make greater effort for the city’s progress, and the country’s as a whole.
