The city chief made the remarks whilst meeting with leaders of the University on Saturday morning.

Present at the event were municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Dang Viet Dung, along with some representatives from local departments and agencies.

Secretary Nghia highly praised the University for its remarkable achievements in training, scientific research, and international cooperation programmes.

He added after 24 years of construction and development, the private university, with a total of over 20,000 students, has affirmed its reputation at both home and abroad.

During the meeting, Mr Nghia asked relevant agencies to develop incentive policies for private schools as soon as possible. Also, a focus should be on rechecking the 28ha project in Lien Chieu District’s Hoa Khanh Nam Ward in order to help the University to perfect its infrastructure for its future development.

In addition, he urged the University to implement training programmes about aspects in which the city is in need of human resources such as tourism, environment, logistics, as well as to train qualified students for the city’s industrial parks, especially the Hi-tech and dedicated IT parks.

He noted that despite being a private school, the University has built a strong Party organisation, with a total of 196 Party members including students.
