Japan ICT Day 2018 is expected to attract 350 domestic and foreign delegates, including 100 from Japan. It will feature workshops, talk shows and business matching events to promote links between Vietnamese and Japanese IT firms, and the Hackathon Viet Nam 2018 competition. During the event, updated reports on the development of IT co-operation between Viet Nam and Japan will be released.

Participants will be also provided with an overview of Japan’s IT industry. Leading IT firms of both sides will share information related to smart city projects in Ha Noi, and discuss the reality of Viet Nam-Japan IT co-operation in new technology projects, and measures to improve the quality of the collaboration.

For the first time, IT training institutions will send their students to the Hackathon Viet Nam 2018 competition, which is scheduled for 27 - 28 August in Ha Noi with the theme ‘Smart City’.
Japan ICT Day is an annually important event organised by VINASA and the Viet Nam – Japan IT Co-operation Club, aiming to promote Viet Nam – Japan IT collaboration.

The event was first organised in 2007 and is the best platform for Viet Nam and Japanese companies to seek business co-operation opportunities during the past 10 years. It is supported by the Governments, associations, organisations and especially businesses of the two countries.

In recent times, co-operation between Viet Nam’s IT businesses with Japanese peers has witnessed strong development. Many research and development projects based on new technologies such as Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been jointly implemented by the two countries’ enterprises.

Many IT products and applications of Viet Nam have been introduced in the Japanese market in many fields, from restaurants and supermarkets to health care, transport, industry and entertainment.
