A Certificate of Merit from the Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman was awarded to Nguyen Huu Quang Nhat, a Year 12 pupil from the city-based Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School, who finished 3^rd at the recent final round of the 18^th edition of the ‘Duong Len Dinh Olympia’ (Road to Mt. Olympia’s Peak) on 2 September.

Nhat was the first finalist of the 18^th edition of the competition after having won the 1st quarterly round with 240 points.

He has been the 2nd senior high school pupil in Da Nang to compete in the final round of this annual contest after Vo Van Dung from the city-based Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted who was the winner of the ‘Road to Mt. Olympia’s Peak’ 2003.

Since its inception in 1999, the prestigious knowledge contest on TV for senior high school pupils nationwide has been organised by VTV3 and funded by LG Electronics.

The race consists of 4 parts: Warm-up, Overcoming Obstacles, Speed-up and Reaching the Finish Line.

To advance to the final round, contestants must win weekly, monthly and quarterly rounds.
