Solar panels to be installed on rooftop of 10 public buildings and families

The Da Nang Energy Conservation and Technology Consultant Centre (DECC) under the municipal Department of Science and Technology on Wednesday entered into a memorandum of understanding to install solar panels on the rooftop of 4 public buildings and 6 families across the city.

In detail, solar panels which are expected to generate a total of 8kWp will be installed at the public facilities, namely the Da Nang General Hospital, the Vo Thi Sau Primary School, both of Hai Chau District, the Lien Chieu District-based Cancer Hospital, and the Thanh Khe District-located Hoang Dieu Junior High School.

Likewise, 6 selected families across the city will have the solar power system installed with a combined capacity of 2.5kWp.

The installation work which is scheduled to be conducted from February until June 2019 is within the framework of a project entitled ‘Development of Solar Energy in Da Nang (DSED).

Jointly developed by the European Union (EU) and the DECC, the project is running for 40 months, until October 2020, at a cost of 444,000 EUR. Of this, 393,000 EUR is funded by the EU, whilst the remainder comes from DECC’s budget.
