In his report at the event, Assoc Prof Nguyen Ngoc Vu, the UDN’s Director cum Chairman of the Board of Directors of the UDN, said the Prime Minister has approved the detailed 1:2000 planning map for the city’s University Village project by 2025, with a vision towards 2035.

Mr Vu underlined the need for the Ministry to continue working with the authorities of Da Nang and Quang Nam Province to revive the project. The focus should be on accelerating the site clearance and compensation work, as well as granting medium-term investment capital of 1,000 billion VND for the 2016-2020 period, and 4,900 billion VND for the 2021-2025 period.

In his remarks at the meeting, Chairman Tho noted his city has taken the initiative in arranging 22ha of land in the city to build resettlement areas to prepare for the site clearance and compensation work, facilitating the smooth implementation of the project.

He also pledged that the municipal authorities would create very favourable conditions for researchers and lectures from UDN’s school members to easily access information about the city’s socio-economic development projects.

He also asked the school members to give their ideas to promote the city’s progress.

For his part, Minister Nha said he would consider the suggestions made by UDN, especially those relating to the University Village project.

He hoped that the municipal authorities would continue their efforts to develop UDN into a leading educational establishment in the central region. This will significantly help to promote the development of the city, and the central region as a whole.
