Upward trend of real-life learning at vocational training facilities
In addition to the implementation of the motto “learning goes hand in hand with practice”, many vocational training establishments in Da Nang have been promoting the real-life learning trend with the aim of ensuring higher-quality graduates who meet the strict requirements of recruiters.

As one of the educational institutions pursuing the real-life learning, the Da Nang Vocational Training Junior College has held a ceremony to honour a total of 20 alumni and alumnae who have gain outstanding success on their own entrepreneurial journeys.
Amongst them was Ms Phan Tinh Nhi, the CEO of the Valencia Hotel Da Nang. She remarked that her successful entrepreneurship has mainly been attributed to her academic studies at this school which always attaches importance to promoting real-life learning methods.
In a similar vein, Mr Nguyen Duy Doan, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Automotive Technology JSC, who graduated from the Engineering Faculty, summarised briefly, “The school's focus on real-life learning has been facilitated its students like us grasp more opportunities to develop career paths after graduation”.
Over recent years, a large number of graduates from the Vietnamese - Australian Vocational College (VAVC) have engaged in the job market, making the school one of the educational establishments in the city having the high rate of employment.
As for the structure of the VAVC’s training programme, training programme, 80% of its curricula are real-life practice sessions. This learning method not only enhances the training quality, but more importantly, it facilitates students to integrate quickly into the job market after their graduation.
In particular, thanks to the good relationships between VAVC and local businesses, many students from its Tourism Faculty have experienced internships at such famous hotels and resorts in Da Nang and Hoi An as Palm Golden, Vitoria, River Beach Resort & Residences. Thanks to this, many VAVC students have taken many job managerial positions after their graduation.
According to the latest figures released by the municipal Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs, last year, 70% of the total graduates from local vocational training establishments were employed.
Particularly, the high employment rare was recorded in such aspects as tourism services, information technology, mechanical engineering, and automotive technology.
Mr Nguyen Van An, the Deputy Director of the Department, underlined a must-do for local vocational training establishments to make their greater efforts in promoting relationships with businesses from inside and outside the city, with an emphasis on creating a closer coordination in developing curriculum plans and internship schedules.
