UDN's top scoring students honoured
A ceremony took place on Monday to honour those who scored the highest marks in the 2019 National Senior High School Graduation Examinations to enter the member schools of the University of Da Nang (UDN).

Present at the event were municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary Vo Cong Tri and municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Le Trung Chinh.
Results of the all-important annual exam, held every year around June, are used to determine whether a pupil qualifies for graduation from senior high school, and acts as a placement test for junior college and university entrance in Viet Nam.
At the ceremony, a reward of 10 million in cash was presented to freshman Tran Truong Minh Chanh, who is the UDN’s high-achiever. He earned 29.8 out of 30 scores to enroll into the Faculty of Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Science and Technology, a member school of UDN.
In a similar vein, 9 top scoring students at other member schools of UDN received a reward of 8 million VND each.
Also, 10 new students who have been admitted directly to UDN’s member schools were given 2 million VND each for their good achievements at national and international competitions.
A total of 35 undergraduates who gained excellent academic results in the already-concluded 2018 - 2019 school year also received 1.5 million VND each.
Also at the event, the municipal Study Encouragement Association-granted scholarships, worth 5 million VND each, went to 21 first-year needy students who have permanent residence in the city.
Likewise, more scholarships, valued at 5 million VND each, were given out to 17 students living in difficult circumstances so as to encourage them to pursue their academic dreams in this ongoing school year.
It is known that, every year, the UDN confers Bachelor's and Master’s degrees and Doctorates on a total of 10,000 trainees, and about 200 scientific works are published in prestigious international scientific journals.
